Battlefield 1 is a first-person shooter (FPS) set during World War I (1914–1918). It was developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts in 2016.
🎮 Gameplay
Unlike many modern military shooters, Battlefield 1 focuses on the chaos and brutality of WWI:
Large-scale battles with up to 64 players in multiplayer
Infantry combat with rifles, pistols, machine guns, and melee weapons
Vehicles:
Tanks
Biplanes
Armored trains
Cavalry horses
Naval vehicles
Dynamic weather and destruction (buildings can collapse, sandstorms can appear)
🪖 Campaign (War Stories)
The single-player campaign is split into several short stories:
Storm of Steel – a soldier’s experience during a massive WWI battle
Through Mud and Blood – British tank crew fighting in France
Friends in High Places – aerial combat and fighter pilots
Avanti Savoia! – Italian mountain warfare
The Runner – Australian forces at Gallipoli
Nothing Is Written – Arab Revolt and desert warfare
The campaign is praised because it shows different perspectives instead of making war look like a simple hero story.
